Angelo G. PozzutoJanuary 28, 1927 ~ September 29, 2017 (age 90)
Angelo G. Pozzuto, 90, of Kittanning, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Fair Winds Manor in Sarver. He was born in Kittanning on January 28, 1927 to the late John and Tressie (Jose) Pozzuto. He was a glassworker at PPG in Ford City for 22 years and then worked in the Maintenance Department for Armstrong School District for 20 years. Angelo was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, and belonged to the Ford City Eagles, American Legion, and the Latin American Club. Angelo was also a big New York Yankees fan. He is survived by his son, Michael E. (Kathy) Pozzuto, of Dover, Ohio; daughter, Diane (Darrel Kim) Bowser, of Kittanning; grandsons, John and Mark Bowser, of Kittanning, and Joseph Pozzuto, of Dover, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Betty Pozzuto, Mary Starr, and Joanne Germy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Angelo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine E. (Germy) Pozzuto, who died February 7, 1994; brothers, Jack and Bill Pozzuto; and sisters, Genevieve Pozzuto and Elaine (Pozzuto) Shiring. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 2 pm at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Douglas E. Dorula officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Swartz and all staff members who cared for Angelo during the seven years he spent at Fair Winds Manor.
