Frances Virginia (Brumbaugh) Bowser, 81, of Kittanning, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at home.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1936, in Kittanning, to the late Franklin and Frances Brumbaugh and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Virginia was the world’s greatest mom and a member of The Salvation Army in Kittanning. Virginia was a great woman of faith whose gentle loving spirit was a blessing to everyone who met her. She loved to garden, she sang like an Angel and enjoyed caring for her husband and children, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Corbin Junior Bowser; sons, Corbin David (Mary Lynn) Bowser of Kittanning and Michael Allen (Debbie) Bowser of Dayton; daughter, Karen Sue (Craig) Whiteman of Kittanning; seven grandchildren, Kendra, Gregg, Emily, Rachel, Travis, Caleb, and Isaac; seven great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews; sisters, Flo (Bob) Bowser of Kittanning; Helen Cravenor of Kittanning; and Kathy (Glenn) Hamrick of Franklin; and sister-in-law, Sandy Brumbaugh of Kittanning and brother in law Joe (Bonnie) Bowser of Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances Brumbaugh; sisters, Buelah Bleggi and Louise Schreckengost; brothers, Bud Brumbaugh, Ronald Brumbaugh, and Mike Brumbaugh; and two great-grandsons.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kittanning Salvation Army Worship/Service Center, 205 S. Jefferson St., with additional visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service with her son, Michael Bowser and Lieutenant Luke Barney officiating. Interment will be in West Glade Run Cemetery.
