George Michael Szalankiewicz, 84, of Worthington, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at home. He was born July 28, 1931, in Kittanning, a son of the late John and Mary (Bordick) Szalankiewicz. He was a retired federal mine inspector and a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning. He was also a collector of mining lights and equipment. Survivors include his daughters, Victoria (Joseph F.) Boguslawski, of Worthington, and Deborah Szalankiewicz, of Worthington; granddaughters, Tara Boguslawski (Brian Booher), of Kittanning, Erin Boguslawski, of Worthington, and Carrie Jo (Brian) Harclerode, of Worthington; grandson, Joel (Stacy) Boguslawski, of Kittanning; great-granddaughters, Darlene, Kori, Lauren and Ela; great-grandsons, Dalton, Justin, Ian, Christian and Eli; and sister, Mary Jane Edwards, of Worthington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace (Hodak) Szalankiewicz; brothers, John and Joseph Szalankiewicz; and sisters, Margaret and infant Mary Ann. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME in Worthington. Parting prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning with the Rev. Efren C.
