Gertrude Rose (Myers) Harmon, 89, of West Kittanning died Monday, March 20, 2017, at ACMH Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 27, 1927, in Cowansville to the late Charles and Jesse (Allen) Myers.
Rose was a retired postal clerk.
She was a member of the Cowansville Union First Presbyterian Church; she also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Golden Links. Ms. Harmon served on the Republican Board of Elections and was the president of the Sugarcreek Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include daughter, Linda of Kittanning; son, Jack of Erie; granddaughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Billings of West Chester; grandsons, Michael and Murat Harmon of Baltimore, Maryland; great-granddaughter, Eliana Billings of West Chester; and sister, Lois McGregor of Keihi, Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Harmon; five sisters, Wilda Moore, Carrie Fester, Betty Giacoletti, Helen Davis, and Jean Salsgiver; and four brothers, Allen, George, Burdette, and Marion ‘Bud’ Myers.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 832 East Brady Road, Cowansville. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Friday in the Cowansville Union First United Presbyterian Church, 824 East Brady Road, until the time of services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mary Marks King, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington. Memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s honor to the Union First Presbyterian Church, 824 East Brady Road, Cowansville, Pa. 16218 or to the Sugarcreek Ladies Auxiliary, 110 Rodgers Road, East Brady, Pa. 16028.
