Hayes C. Shankle, 77, of West Kittanning died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at ACMH Hospital.

He was born Dec. 28, 1939, in West Kittanning to the late Omer and Lottie (Lemmon) Shankle.

Hayes was a retired truck driver and a member of the West Kittanning Grace Brethren Church.

He liked rebuilding cars and going to McDonald’s with his friends in the evening.

Survivors include four children, Joel (Crystal) Shankle, Cindy (John J.) Cousins, Jeffrey (Zesta) Shankle, and Gregory (Michelle) Shankle; granddaughters, Devin and McKenna; grandsons, Richard (Hannah), Andrew, Riley, Kody; and sister in law, Bertha Shankle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jody Shankle, who passed away on Feb. 12, 2016; and two brothers, James and Donald Shankle.

Friends will be received from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, with the Rev. Larry Edwards officiating. Interment will be in West Kittanning Grace Brethren Church Cemetery.
