James Roy Benton, 73, of Fisher, formerly of Kittanning, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in ACMH Hospital in East Franklin.  He was born April 28, 1942 in Kittanning to Roy and Lena (Henry) Benton.  James was self-employed as the owner of Benton’s Service Center in West Deer. He retired in 1992.  He was an U.S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran.  A member of the New Hope Church in Clarion, he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, fishing, traveling, and spending winters in Florida.  Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Alice (Goldinger) Benton; one son, Paul (Kim) Benton of Valencia; one daughter, Amy (Tony) Maniet of Cranberry Township; four grandchildren, Joshua Benton, Jamie Maniet, Jacob Benton, and Michael Maniet; one sister, Darlene Cornman of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Maniet.  Friends will be received from 2 p.m. Friday at the Snyder Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning until the time of services at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Edward Walters and the Rev. Colin Koch officiating.
