K. Glenn Cornman

May 3, 1931 ~ December 12, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Kile Glenn Cornman, 86, of Boggs Township, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at his home.  He was born May 3, 1931, in Kittanning, the son of Calvin and Rose Cornman.  He and his wife, Elaine, attended Pine Creek Baptist Church and Franklin Union Baptist Church. He currently attended First Baptist Church in Kittanning. He was also a member of the Masons. Glenn graduated from Kittanning High School in 1949. He was a Korean War veteran, serving as a corporal with the military police in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Kittanning Phone Co. prior to owning his own business, C&L Painting.  He retired at the age of 62 to care for his wife full-time for the next 23 years. He was a role model of commitment, sacrificial love, strength and devotion to his family and anyone who knew him. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. During his working years, he worked a second job cutting timber, making and selling locust posts to the vineyards in New York, also raising and selling strawberries, and managing rental properties. He instilled that same solid work ethic in his family.  He enjoyed gambling at the casino, golfing, eating breakfast at Dizzy Lizzie’s, and traveling with his family. He loved seeing his family and looked forward to each visit. He especially enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Steelers games with his son and grandson. He had a strong faith in God that he used to impact many lives positively.  His memory will be cherished by his loving son, Alan Cornman and wife, Marilyn; daughter, Debbie Bowser and husband, Curt; grandchildren, Ryan Bowser and wife, Larin, Derek Bowser and fiancée, Carly Rice, Adam Bowser, Emily Elaine Cornman, and Kile Cornman; and great-grandchildren, Rowan Bowser and Willow Elaine Bowser.  Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, who died on July 31, 2016, Elaine J. Cornman; his parents; brothers, Earl and Clark Cornman; and sisters, Mildred Calhoun and Edna Taylor.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at the Concord Presbyterian Church, 907 State Route 1018, in Wayne Township, Dayton, with Pastor Fred Neal, III officiating.
