Kyle John “Guido” Shaeffer, 31, of Rural Valley, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital after a 26-year battle with cancer and its ravaging effects.  He was born July 6, 1986, in Kittanning, to John Shaeffer and Lisa (Hunter) Novak and lived in the area all of his life.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Kyle also liked golfing and playing street hockey.  Left behind to cherish his memory are his father, John (Cher) Shaeffer of Kittanning; his mother, Lisa (Bruce) Novak of Yatesboro; brothers, Brad and Kevin Shaeffer of Kittanning; sisters, Alissa, Alura, and Jordyn Novak of Yatesboro; niece, Harper Grace Novak of Yatesboro; grandparents, John (Nancy Coudriet) Shaeffer Sr. of Worthington; Ronald (Rosetta) Minesky of Spring Church; aunt, Jackie (John) Zachar of Leechburg; and uncle, Chris (Kathryn) Hunter of Florida.  He was preceded in death by an uncle, Todd Shaeffer.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional viewing will be held from noon Saturday until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael B. Coats officiating. Burial will be at Forks Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Leechburg.
