Lillian Ramona (Dougherty) Edwards, age 92, of Tavares, Florida passed away on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016. She was born on Jan. 3, 1924, in Kittanning to Robert J. and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Dougherty. She moved to Lake County, Florida in 1990 from Ohio. She was a retired secretary in the real estate business. Lillian was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tavares and also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved nothing better than being in a rocking chair with a baby or child in her arms. Lillian’s hobbies included playing bingo with her friend, Sue, cards with her family and friends, who at the clubhouse call her ‘Diamond Lil’, and bowling in her younger years. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Jay R. Edwards; son, Richard E. (Karla) Edwards of Austintown, Ohio; daughter, Ida L. (Thomas) King of Tavares, Florida and Kittanning; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Grace King; and brothers, Frank ‘Moon’ Dougherty, Bill Dougherty, Harold ‘Sy’ Dougherty, Francis ‘Tuney’ Dougherty; and one infant brother, Stanton. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.
