Margaret E. (Johnson) Milligan, 93, of Kittanning, died Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Kittanning Care Center.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1924, in Kittanning to the late Ralph and Laura (Opel) Johnson.

Prior to marriage, she worked for Kittanning Builders Supply and the Kittanning Telephone Company. After marriage, she became a homemaker and the book keeper for the family business Milligan’s Fire Protection Service.

She is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kittanning

Margaret enjoyed sewing, needlework, and had a reputation of being a wonderful seamstress. She also enjoyed camping, and traveling, but most of all she loved being with her family.

Survivors include daughters, Margery (Henry) Yasczak of Leechburg, Shelly (Robert) Zinsmeister of New Hampshire, and Sally (Kenneth) Knight of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Lina Milligan of Kittanning; 11 grandchildren, Robert (Amy) Yasczak, Amanda (Craig) Ehrman, Stacy (Michael) Bond, Alicia Casilio, Sara (Brad Larkin) Casilio, Kelly (Isaac) Goldstein, Hayley Casilio, Adam Knight, Aaron Knight, Nicole (Burnett) Smith, and Robert Milligan; five great-grandchildren, Eli Yasczak, Blake Ehrman, Andrew Bond, William Bond, and Oliver Goldstein; and brother-in-law, Robert Lehner of Kittanning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Robert K. Milligan Sr.; and son Robert K. Milligan Jr.; son, Jonathan Michael Milligan, who died in infancy; sister, Betty Lehner; and brother, Ralph T. Johnson.

Friends will be received Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 7-9 p.m. at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 N. Water St., Kittanning with the Rev. Howard Gillette officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s honor to the Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter, 11878 State Route 85, Kittanning, Pa. 16201 or to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 N. Water St., Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
