Marjorie “Pickle” (Richards) Toy, 91, of Kittanning died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at home. She was born July 15, 1925 in Brookville to Harry E. and Pearle (Endress) Richards. Marj and her husband, Robert, owned and operated Toy’s Market for several years. She also was a long-time active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kittanning, where she was a member of the ECW. Marj served on the election board in East Franklin for many years. She was a volunteer at the food bank and the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years. Survivors include one son, Thomas (Karen) Toy of Kittanning; three daughters, Amy (Jim) Swast of Kittanning, Kay Dell Antonio of Curwensville, and Mary (Max) Silvis of Kittanning; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Stahlman of Jamestown, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Toy; two brothers, Walter and Harry Richards; and three sisters, Betty Bushnell, Anna Oakes, and Joan Call. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant St., Kittanning. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 N. Water St., Kittanning with the Rev. Bert Daly officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Memorial contributions in Marj’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 N. Water St., Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
