Mary Ann Rice, 54, of Kittanning died on Monday, June 12, 2017, in ACMH Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 12, 1962, in Tarentum to the late Robert L. Rice and Clara Dee (Hirtz) Rice-Beckett.

Mary Ann loved to go shopping, bowling, and having picnics. She also enjoyed her hats, shoes, and purses.

Mary Ann attended Lifesteps Day Program ACOR.

She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Cadogan and had her First Holy Communion while at the Ebensburg State School and Hospital.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, the only father she ever knew, Jay F. Beckett; sisters, Linda Scott of Washington, Denise Waltman (Greg Kelly) of Ford City, Faith (Rick) Shaw of Kittanning, and Sherry (Larry) Bliss of Rimersburg; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her loving , compassionate, and caring extended family that were not only her caretakers but became close friends at Lifesteps and Nixon House.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Dee (Hirtz) Beckett, who died on June 17, 2012; father; sister, Beverly Jo Rice, who died on June 9, 2016; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rice; maternal grandparents, John and Clara Hirtz; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Elizabeth Beckett; brotherin law, Mike; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 15, 2017, in the Snyder Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, June 16, from 9:30-11 a.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Cadogan, with the Rev. Alan Grote officiating. Burial will follow in the Slate Lick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Ann’s name to the Orphans of The Storm.
