Robert D. Claypool, Sr., 87, of Kittanning, died on Wednesday Nov. 29, 2017, in ACMH Hospital.  He was born on Nov. 30, 1929, in North Buffalo Township, to the late Fred and Olive (Hartman) Claypool.  He retired from PPG in Ford City, and then he was a self employed carpenter.  Robert was a member of Union Baptist Church and he enjoyed woodworking and made a lot of projects for the church Bible school as well as projects for the Bible Class.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 66 years Lois (Beatty) Claypool; son, Robert Claypool, Jr. and wife, Diana, of Kittanning; grandchildren, Corey McHaddon of Kittanning; Casey Streb and husband, David, of Pittsburgh; A.J Claypool, who is now serving in the Air Force in Louisiana; Michael Claypool of Kittanning; sisters, Phyllis Hohl of Kittanning and Carole Ireland of Kittanning; brother, Paul Claypool and wife, Jean, of Pittsgrove, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Lynn McHaddon; brothers, Fred, Richard, and Jerry Claypool; and sisters, Wilda Olivio, Margie Stobert, and Neva Claypool.  Family and friends will be received on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Additional viewing will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Slate Lick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Union Baptist Church, 475 Church Road Extension, Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
