Loretta C. Kemp

Loretta C. Kemp, of West Kittanning, devoted wife and mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 22, 2024.  

She was born June 3, 1942 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania to Robert and Bertha Walters.  She met her future husband, Arthur B. Kemp, at a teen dance at the Bally Recreational Club.  They married on September 1, 1962 in Bally, Pennsylvania where they started a family.  They relocated back and forth across the state beginning in 1977, moving permanently to Kittanning in 1981.  Loretta worked as a secretary for Drug Plastics and Glass for over 20 years and for Rite Aid until her retirement.  She was a volunteer and active member of St. Mary Parish, including Catholic Daughters of the Americas.  She was a breast cancer survivor of 34 years and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, as well as the ACMH Ladies Auxiliary and St. Vincent De Paul Society of Kittanning.  Loretta loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed shopping, bingo, Hallmark movies, game shows and yard sales.  

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Arthur; five children: Diane (Richard) Faletti, of Kittanning, PA, David (Joseph Noble) Kemp, of Virginia Beach, VA, Susan (Phillip) Sanderson, of Mathews, VA, Kathy Steele, of Butler, PA and Melinda (Scott) McKeever, of Clarksburg, PA; eight grandchildren: Sara, Tracy, Michael, Elizabeth, Chloe, Max, Nova and Dyson; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Kistler, of Germansville, PA; and a brother, Martin Walters, of Pottstown, PA.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Miller; brothers, George and William Walters; and an infant son.  

A Funeral Mass officiated by The Reverend Juanito G. Lozano will be held at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Kittanning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.  Friends and loved ones are welcome one hour before Mass and a light luncheon will immediately follow services.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
