Mary M. (Young) Smith

Mary M. Smith, 88, of Cowansville, East Franklin Township. passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at home. She was born April 2, 1936 a daughter of the late Frank and Dora (Snyder) Young.

She was a homemaker. Mary loved going to yard sales, flea markets, camping, fishing, watching her son show his tractors. She really loved putting together jigsaw puzzles, and knitting. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. 

Mary is survived by her brother Clyd Young of Cowlesville, NY; her son Carl R. Smith of East Brady; grandson John W. (Brenda) Irrine of Templeton; granddaughter Jenny (Casey) Bowser of Kittanning; 6 great-grandchildren Krista, Carly, Levi, Tate, Mackenzie, and Devin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her 10 siblings; husband Carl A. Smith and companion Harry Smith; grandson Carl Smith Jr.

Friends will be received on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 24, 2024 in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.with Pastor Jerry Johns officiating. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time service at 11:00 A.M. Interment is in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Adrian.
