Sara M. Welker
Kittanning

Sara Marie (Crissman) Welker, 71, of Kittanning, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, in Butler Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Adrian, daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Barker) Crissman. She formerly worked at Big River Manufacturing Co., in Kittanning, then at OEM Blinds in Ford City. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Worthington. She enjoyed bowling, baking and dancing. She was a Pirates and Steelers fan and loved her game shows and Judge Judy. Survivors include her children, Brenda L. (John) Gutherie, Douglas L. Lash and Beth A. Lash, all of Kittanning; daughter-in-law, Pamela S. Lash, of Freeport; stepdaughters, Tina C. (Brian) Alben, of Slippery Rock, Sandra L. (Ralph) Stewart, of Chicora, and Donna E. (Jim) Asche, of West Middlesex; grandchildren, Shawn Lash, of South Buffalo Township, Larry Lash, of Creighton, Amanda Wise, of Kittanning, Jessica Bowser, of Ford City, Haden Cloak, of Kittanning, and Danielle Gutherie, of Kittanning; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia (Corbin) Bowser, of Worthington, Marjorie Davis, of West Kittanning, Elizabeth (Joel) Nightingale, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Judy (Thomas) Wright, of Jefferson, Ga.; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Crissman, of Slate Lick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Welker; an infant son; brothers, John Crissman and Russell Crissman; and friend, Robert 'Woody' Woodward. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, in Kittanning, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Worthington, with the Rev. Lawrence R. Camberg officiating. Interment will be in Butler Memorial Park.
