Betty J. (Allshouse) Carroll, 94, of Cabot, formerly of Worthington, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot. She was born March 15, 1924, in Brookville, to the late Harvey and Cora (Zimmerman) Allshouse. She worked as an accountant/ bookkeeper. Betty belonged to the Worthington Presbyterian Church, where she belonged to the Women’s Association and formerly served as a deacon. She enjoyed reading, counted cross stitching, embroidery, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia (Alan) Houpt, of Oak Hill, Va.; son, James (Peggy) Carroll, of Harve de Grace, Md.; granddaughters, Stephanie Cash, of Aberdeen, Md., and Loren Dixon, of Port Deposit, Md.; great-grandchildren, Savannah Cash and Ashlyn Hinegardner, of Aberdeen, Md., and Cole, Kaleb, and Sway Dixon, of Port Deposit, Md. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin Carroll; brothers, Wilson, Ralph, and Donald; sisters, Dora Nelson and Doris Smith; sisters-in-law, Betty Allshouse, Margaret Allshouse, and Edith Allshouse; great-grandson, Quad Dixon; and grandson-in-law, Daniel Dixon.
Friends will be received on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3 p.m. at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, with the Rev. Robert Hindman officiating. Interment will be Windy Hill Cemetery.
