Carolyn F. Stephens, 78, of Kittanning, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 18, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Spaces Corners, to the late James Newton and Grace (Milliron) Lamison.
She previously worked at A&C Variety Store, which she co-owned with her husband, and worked as a nurse’s aide at the Armstrong County Health Center from which she retired in 2001.
She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Kittanning Hose Co. No. 1.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her little babies. Her hobbies included doing crossword puzzles, watching cooking shows on WQED and The Chew, watching Wheel of Fortune, cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams, and shopping.
Survivors include daughter, Susan D. (Terry) Livengood, son, William M. (Sherry) Stephens, daughter, Toni A. (Glenn) Livengood, and daughter Tammy L. Stephens, all of Kittanning; and son, James E. (Brenda) Stephens of Ford City; grandchildren, Todd (Stacey) Livengood, Laken (Benjamin) Ingram, and Chase (Ashley) Stephens; great-grandchildren, Kooltyn, Kameryn, Isla, and Adrie Livengood; Brea, Hunter, and Lexi Ingram; and Berkley, Finley, and Ellery Stephens; sister, Mary Farster; and brother Dennis (Linda) Lamison; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Stephens and Tillie Anderson; special nieces, Tracie and Peggy Lou, special nephew, Danny; friends, Danielle, Sue, and Herm; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William “Abe” Stephens, who died July 27, 2016; grandson, William “Michael” Stephens, Jr.; her parents; and siblings, Betty Smith, Margaret Irwin, and Glenda Schiano; one infant sister; and two infant brothers.
Her family would like to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice of Cabot for the excellent care they provided.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with additional visitation from noon until the time of the service with the Rev. Larry Edwards officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
