Charles F. Loughrey, 88, of Kittanning, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Health South, Harmarville. He was born April 29, 1922, in Kittanning, a son of Archie W. Loughrey and Jennie M. (Bowser) Loughrey and was a lifelong resident of the area. Charles was a Navy veteran of World War II stationed in Puerto Rico. He retired from Eljer, was a member of Union Avenue Methodist Church in Kittanning and enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his sons, Gary (Cathy) Loughrey, of Kittanning, and Terry (Coleen) Loughrey, of Cortland, Ohio; daughter, Debra (Richard) Hileman, of Ford City; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jenny Mitchell, of Kittanning. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Loughrey, in 2005; son, Richard Loughrey, in 2007; two sisters, Grace Crytzer and Ethel Lorigan; and two brothers, Henry Loughrey and Archie Loughrey II. Services are private. Arrangements entrusted to SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
