Christa Kunkle-Vickhouse, 74, of Shelocta, died on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital.

She was born May 14, 1943, in Berlin, Germany.

Mrs. Kunkle was a retired L.P.N and was of the Presbyterian faith.

A past member of the German Club in Indiana, Pa., she enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, painting, reading and cooking. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Charles Kunkle of Shelocta; daughters, Christine (Ted Jacobs) Kunkle of Ohio; JoAnn (J.R. Hickman) Wilfong of Richwood, W.Va.; son, Jason Vickhouse of Indiana, Pa., son, Jeremy (Rebecca Craig) Vickhouse of Creekside; 10 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and sister, Isolde Borrmann of Berlin, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents in Germany; her husband, T. L Vickhouse; and granddaughter, Samantha Swagler.

Remembrance of life’s passing is the truest form of love one can give, for a memory should never die and a love should live forever in the heart of another.

Private family viewing and services will be held. Snyder Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning have been entrusted with the arrangements.
