Dorothy E. (Petras) McIlwain, 91, of Ford City, formerly of Kittanning, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at Our Family’s Home in Ford City. She was born Nov. 13, 1927, in McGrann, to the late Paul F. and Ethel M. (Wolfe) Petras. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. Dorothy is survived by three children, son, Wayne McIlwain, daughters, Janice Parker, and Sheila (Mark) Lehner; eight grandchildren, Brian (Trish) McIlwain, Joel (Annette) McIlwain, Beth (Brad) Bygall, Jill McIlwain, Phil Parker, Ryan Parker, Amy (John) DeSimone, and Rebecca (Bernard) Metro; six great-grandchildren, Jameson McIlwain, Brendan Langjhar, Logan McIlwain, Dylan McIlwain, Zachary Bygall, and Natalie Bygall; brother, Carl (Mary) Petras; sisters, Louise (Ronald) McIntire, Mary Jane (Thomas) Shankle, Janet (Al) Lux, and Patty Fennell; sisters-in-law, Clara Petras and Norma Petras; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, E. Charles McIlwain; son-in-law, Craig Parker; six brothers, Edward Petras, Robert Petras, Donald Petras and his wife, Sandra, William Petras and his wife, Karen, Richard Petras, and Glenn Petras; and brother-in-law, Harry Fennell. Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, where there will be additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, with the Rev. Donald Peters officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Boggs Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s honor to Three Rivers Hospice, 2500 Mosside Blvd., Monroeville, Pa. 15146.
