Fern Lucille Brink, 75, of Kittanning, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Cowanshannock Township to the late Elmer Curtis and Mary Lucille (Cogley) Uplinger. She graduated from Kittanning High School in 1961, going on to work at Murphy’s Five & Ten and then Eljer. Fern was head of payroll at Eljer, retiring after 36 years of service, where she knew almost every clock number of each employee. She was a member of Mount Union Bible Church in Valley Township. She liked country music, especially listening to country gospel music at Rosston on Tuesdays. She also enjoyed Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and crossword puzzles. Fern is survived by her husband of 41 years, David B. Brink; step daughter, Wendy (Leroy) Cogley of Templeton; step son, David W. (Lisa) Brink of Valley Township; step grandchildren, Chasity Priester of New Bethlehem; Chelsea Rupert of Distant; Danny Priester of Indiana, Pa.; Megan Brink of Pittsburgh; Kaylee Johns of Kennerdell, Pa.; Hilary Cogley of Clarion; Jimmy Cogley of Elderton; Alicia (Joey) Peluso of McGrann; Matt (Ashley) Klingensmith of Ford City; Nicole Callipare of Vandergrift; Tabitha Callipare of Ford City; step great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hunter, Gage, Junior, Julie, Jacob, Madison, Maddie, Jackson, Bradley, and Lakota; sister, Lorraine Uplinger of Rural Valley; brother, Thomas Uplinger of Valley Township; sister-in-law, Doris Uplinger of Kittanning; nephew, Ken Uplinger of Whitesburg; and niece, Debbie Huey of Shelocta. She was preceded in death by by her parents; step son, Kevin B. Brink; step daughter, Julie A. Priester; and brother, Richard Uplinger. Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Burns officiating, where there will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be in Pleasant Union Cemetery in Cowanshannock Township.
