Fred Charles Cogley, 90, of Kittanning, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at his granddaughter’s home, surrounded by family. He was born on Aug. 13, 1927, in Brocketville, Pa., to the late Fred and Linnie (McAfoose) Cogley. Fred retired from Drexel Refractory, and was a member of the Living Water Church in Kittanning. He loved hunting, fishing, going to camp in Marienville, and playing cards. Survivors include daughters Judy (Joseph) Atwood of Kittanning and Nancy Davis of Sugarcreek, sons James (Sharon) Cogley and Charles (Penny) Cogley of Kittanning, brothers James “Skeets” (Helen) Cogley of Kittanning, Will (Mary Ann) Cogley of West Kittanning, and Larry “Bo” (Lucy) Cogley of Lower Burrell, sisters Catherine Blystone of Kittanning, Shirley Stivason of Butler, Peggy (Tony) Kozuch of High Point, N.C., and Doris Cogley; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, with one due in June. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary J. (Bowser) Cogley, who passed away March 10, 2013, two brothers Thomas and Harry “Pete” Cogley, two sisters, Christena Cogley and Carol Jean Armstrong, granddaughter Laurie Sue, brother-in-law John Armstrong, and son-in-law Stanley Ray Davis. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home at 200 S. McKean St. in Kittanning. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, with additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service with Pastor Andrew Laddusaw, his church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Tidal Cemetery.
