Fulmer Craig Cox, age 89 of West Kittanning, died on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Family Hospice in Mt. Lebanon, PA. He was born February 15, 1929 in Kittanning, PA to William Fulmer Cox and Elsie Stitt (Craig) Cox. Mr. Cox graduated from Kittanning High School in 1947, after high school he attended Duffs Business School in Pittsburgh, from 1947 to 1949. When he graduated, he worked at PPG in Ford City, PA until entering the service. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. After returning from the Army, he worked at PPG’s Office Works 6 and 4 in Ford City. Mr. Cox worked for PPG for 42 years. Craig married Edythe Lorraine Gosnell of Millvale, PA on May 15, 1954 and settled in Kittanning. Together they had had three sons.
Craig was a lifetime member of Faith Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder of the Church for many years. Craig served several years as Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America at Mt. Union Church at Spaces Corners. In his retirement, Craig enjoyed working in his yard, sitting on the porch with Edythe, and spending time with family.
Mr. Cox is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edythe, currently living at Country Meadows Personal Care Home in Bridgeville, PA; three sons, James C. Cox and his wife Irma of The Colony, TX, Roger A. Cox and his wife Sherry of Bethel Park, PA, and Keith E. Cox and his wife Lee Anne of Newburgh, IN; seven grandchildren, Curtis Cox (wife Karissa), Errol Cox (wife Amanda), Iroh Cox, Ryan Cox (wife Ann), Courtney Cox, Zachary Cox (wife Alissa) and Spencer Cox; and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary E. Lauster of Winona Lake, IN.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 P.M. on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home at 253 N. Grant Avenue, Kittanning, PA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Faith Presbyterian Church in Kittanning, PA with Rev. Kathleen Davis officiating.
