George Clair Emminger, Jr., 76, of Furnace Run, Kittanning, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation & Nursing Facility in Kittanning. He was born July 30, 1942, in Kittanning, to the late George and Betty (Smith) Emminger and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was retired from Eljer Manufacturing. He was a Vietnam era veteran, serving in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Emminger; son, Greg Emminger and wife, Diane, of Leechburg; daughter, Callie Lattanzio, of Kittanning; daughter-in-law, Crystal Emminger, of Kittanning; nine grandchildren, Shane (wife, Kiley), Christian, Jordan, Josie, Jared, Abby, Lauren, Ava, and Grayson; and one great-granddaughter, McKenna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George “Dootch” Emminger, and sister, Judy Anthony.
Per George’s request, no services will be held and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation’s can be made in George’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., Seventh Floor, New York, N.Y. 10001.
