Harold D. Fleming, 87, of Ford City passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his loving wife, Ruth, and devoted caregivers on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Harold was born on Dec. 2, 1929, in Elderton, to the late Jesse and Thyra Fleming. He retired in 1989 from People’s Gas after working for more than 40 years. For the past 50 years, Harold was a member of the Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church. He was a warrant member and past master of Seneca Lodge #805, a member of the Syria Shrine, and the Coudersport Consistory since 1956. Harold also served on the board of the Manor Township Water Authority and as an officer of the Ripper Spring Camp in Elk County, since 1964. Traveling to Ripper Spring Camp, working and spending time at his Hill Farm were his favorite pastimes. He also loved going to Ocean City, N. J. each summer with his family, as well as spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harold dedicated his life to God, his family, and had a positive work ethic. He will be remembered most for his lively spirit and his kindness to others. Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth (Skinner) Fleming; daughters, Beth (Eric) Bauer ofCanonsburg; Genelle (Ray) Dunn and Jill (Dale) Brown, all of Kittanning, and Carol Fleming of Ford City; brother, Edward (Jean) Fleming of McMurray; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, and from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the Snyder Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning with a Masonic service being held at 5:45 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church, 810 Main St., in Ford City with the Rev. Dr. David Skinner and Pastor Don Breghenti co-officiating. Interment will be in Gastown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harold's honor can be made to either Appleby Manor Church, 810 Main Street, Ford City, or the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, Pa 16505.
