Harry James Mangus, 77, of Kittanning, died on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1941, in Kelly’s Station, to the late Frank A. and Mae E. (Rosenberger) Mangus.
Harry was a lifelong resident of the area and was employed by the Kittanning Marina as a boat mechanic and also with Ford City Borough.
He was a member of the Kittanning Men’s Club, Kittanning Eagles, Latin American Club in Ford City, Slovak Catholic Union Club in Ford City, and the Polish Falcons.
He loved fishing and going to the clubs, spending time with his family, and Iron City Beer.
Harry leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Jamie Shaffer and Bruce Freeling, of Dayton; son, Robert Mangus and wife, Leslie, of Kittanning; granddaughter, Kayla Shaffer, of Kittanning; grandsons, Cooper Mangus, of Kittanning and Eli Mangus, of Kittanning; sisters, Wanetta Mechling and husband, Tom, of Kittanning and Darlene Huff, of Butler; great- granddaughters, Hannah Shaffer, of Kittanning and Haylee Shaffer, of Kittanning; and great-grandson, Jordan Shaffer, of Kittanning.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Harry James Mangus, granddaughter, Ashley Shaffer; and brothers, Frank, Rich, Lynford, and Arlie Mangus.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, in the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, from 6-9 p.m. Additional viewing will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rodney Miller officiating. Burial will follow in West Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery.
