Helen Louise Lewis

Helen Louise Lewis, 93, of East Franklin Township, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born December 22, 1924, in Fairmont City, daughter of the late Darrel and Eva (Hamilton) Nulph, of Bradford, Pa.

She married Don Lewis at Camp Gruber Army Base, Oklahoma on December 16, 1942.

She loved working outdoors, gardening and flowers. A photographer for over 40 years, her photos appeared in many of her husband’s state and national hunting publications, including the Leader Times, Pennsylvania Game News, Varmint Hunter and Shooter’s Bible. She also provided photographs for her husband’s book, “The Shooter’s Corner,” published in 1989.

Helen is survived by her children; sons Darrel (Lesley) Lewis of Worthington and Timothy (Debbie) Lewis of Kittanning and daughter Carol Lewis French of Kittanning.

She is also survived by six granddaughters; Jocelyn Spencer, Melissa French, Rebecca Fischer, Wendy Crissman, Jamie Steiner, Jacalyn Schroeder and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Lewis, who died in 2008; brothers Gerald and Carl Nulph, of Bradford and sister Geraldine Jack, of West Virginia.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at Snyder Crissman Funeral Home, Cowansville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with her nephew, Pastor Greg Jack of Erie, officiating. An hour of additional viewing will be held prior to the service. Interment will be in Limestone Cemetery, Adrian, Pa.
