Jack Carl Transue, 87, of West Kittanning, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born July 27, 1931, in Kittanning, the son of the late Carl Raymond Transue and Mary Alleen (Wolfe) Lemmon. Jack was a lifelong resident of the community. He was a self-employed carpet installer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kittanning. Jack was an avid golfer and he loved to visit family.
Survivors include his sons, Mark (Diane) Transue and Tim (Allyn) Transue, of Kittanning; grandsons, Brad (Jamie) Transue, of Worthington, Ben (Kaitlyn) Transue, of Sarver, and Taylor (Kristen) Transue, of Manorville; and great-grandchildren, Weston, Ellison, and Nolan Transue. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Bernice Transue, who died Jan. 1, 1996.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Brady officiating. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
