James McClafferty, 73, of Kittanning Township, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Kittanning, to the late James and Anna Mae (Hoak) McClafferty. He previously worked for Sharp’s Paving in Shelocta. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Kittanning as well as the Slovak Catholic Union Club in Ford City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and going to camp. Most of all, he loved spending time with his only grandson, Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rose (Shaeffer) McClafferty; son, Ryan McClafferty and wife, Crystal, of Ford City; grandson, Mason McClafferty; siblings, Jack (Valerie) McClafferty, of Adrian, Bill (Tyke) McClafferty, of Kittanning, Jerry McClafferty, of Ford City, John (Debe) McClafferty, of Kittanning, Esther (Nathan) Jones, of New Bethlehem, George McClafferty, of Manor Township, Roberta Miller, of Leechburg, Lew (Diane) McClafferty, of Rural Valley, and Ken McClafferty, of Kittanning; his dog, Buster; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Tommy.
Services will be private and are entrusted to the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
