Janet E. Crissman

Janet E. Crissman, 85, of Templeton, left us for her final journey after an extended struggle with heart disease on May 26, 2018. She was born July 1, 1932, to Theodore R. and Ruth (Snyder) Shriver in Rosston, Pa. She married in West Virginia to her husband of 63 years, Arnold M. Crissman Jr. She was a proud “Presby” registered nurse, having graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. Her compassionate nursing career began at Kittanning Hospital, and was put on hold while she was a dedicated loving mother to her five children. She then returned to her nursing career, working for local physicians before returning to and retiring from ACMH hospital. She was seldom without her knitting supplies and won many blue ribbons for her efforts. In recent years she taught herself to use a computer and enjoyed connecting with family and friends on social media. Janet also researched her family ancestry. Family reunions, get-togethers and visiting with friends were always a joy for her. She loved to travel, and enjoyed many family vacations. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their families, including: Becky and husband Ray Rozic of Fenelton, Amy Lester of Atyrau, Kazakhstan, Diana Adams of Templeton, Mark Scott Crissman and Jane Lippert of Fox, Ore., and Mimi Ferraro of Portland, Ore; grandchildren Seth Rozic, Andy and Lynde Rozic, John Lester, Keenan Adams, and Tanner and Alexis Adams. She was blessed with one great-grandchild, Evey Rozic. She was preceded in death by her parents; her only sibling, Theodore Richard Shriver; her in-laws, Arnie and Beckie Crissman; and son in law Paul Lester. At her request there will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
