Joyce C. (Whyte) Bowser

August 5, 1925 ~ July 26, 2018 (age 92)

Joyce C. (Whyte) Bowser, 92, of West Kittanning, died Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot. She was born August 5, 1925, in London, England to the late Constance Whyte. Joyce worked for 25 years at Moonlight Mushrooms in Worthington. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church in West Kittanning, where she was in the choir and auxiliary for many years. She loved knitting, ceramics, and animals especially her cats. Joyce was a loving mother, she went through WWII in London. She was very proud of the fact that she studied hard and passed the test to become a U.S. citizen. Survivors include sons, Jim (Diane) Bowser, of Freeport, John (Paula) Bowser, of Lady Lake, Fla., and Jeff (Terri) Bowser, of Kittanning; daughters, Jackie (Steve) Waltman, of Pittsburgh, and Jani (John) Daloisio, of West Kittanning; 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; brotherin law, Gene Bowser; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was receded in death by her husband, James W. Bowser Jr.; mother, Constance Whyte; and sister, Ella Barnes Friends will be received Monday, July 30, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 4 and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at the Grace Brethren Church in West Kittanning, where there will be additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, with Rev. Larry Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s honor to the Grace Christian School at 215 Arthur St., Kittanning, Pa. 16201 or the Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter at 11878 State Route 85, Kittanning, Pa. 16201
