Karen Diane (Fritz) Chamberlin, 72, of Kittanning, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at VNA Inpatient Hospice Facility in Butler. She was born February, 14th 1946 in Johnstown, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Donald Parker Fritz and Evelyn (Birch) Fritz of Indiana. She is survived by her brother, Donald (Sandra); her sons, Jeff (Julie) Wasilko, of Wilmington, Massachusetts and Mark (Bridgett) Wasilko, of Kittanning; her grandson, Mark; her granddaughter, Olivia; and her fifteen nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Indiana High School and attended Robert Morris Business College. She was a devoted mother and a friend to many. She worked as a caseworker and counselor for Self Help Alliance and other outreach groups whose mission was to assist those in need. Her leisure time was spent interacting with her grandchildren who were the brightest lights in her life. She was a cat fancier who was never without a kitty or two. She had artistic talent that exhibited itself in her painting and crafts. Karen never had a bad word to say about anyone. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
No public viewing will be held. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held from 12 - 3 PM on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Union Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 475 Church Road Ext. Kittanning, PA 16201, with all friends and family invited to share and reminisce.
