Larry J. John, Sr., 73, of Ford City, died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at home. He was born June 27, 1945, in Kittanning, to the late Earl Adam and Margaret John. Larry was a retired boilermaker for Local No. 154 and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Latin American Club, both in Ford City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and watching his sons in demolition derby events.
Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Larry J. John, Jr. and wife, Mary Lou, of Ford City; daughter, Vickie John, of Ford City; son, Adam John, of Ford City; grandchildren, Christopher McNeely, Jessica McNeely, Melissa McNeely, James John, Brandi Grates, Devon John, Kaydyn John, Gabriel John, and Izayah John; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet (Wade) Dinger, of North Carolina; brother, Charles John, of Kittanning; sisters, Margorie McPherson, of Worthington and Penny Williams, of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Nathaniel James McNeely; brothers, Earl John, Jr. and Robert John.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Additional viewing will take place on Thursday, Jan 17, 2019, in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Evangelist Larry Krause officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
