Laura Jean (Craig) Bowser, 86, of Worthington went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at ACMH Hospital.
She was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Armstrong County to the late Ralph and Mildred Blanch (Chesnut) Craig.
She lived in the community since 1957, and was a homemaker as well as a retired farmer. She and her husband and in-laws purchased a farm and worked on it for most of her married life. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, and word search puzzles.
Left to cherish Jean’s memory is sister-in-law, Geraldine Craig of Kentucky; aunt, Viola Toy of Kittanning; brother-in-law and sister in-law, Ross and Cathy Bowser of Worthington; sisters in-law, Martha Wible of Walkchalk, Rose McElfresh and Donna Bowser, both of Worthington; brother-inlaw and sister-in-law, Ron and Barb Bowser of Ohio; uncle and aunt, Leslie “Sonnie” and Betty Bowser of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews on the Craig side of the family from Kentucky and Kittanning; and many nieces and nephews on the Bowser side of the family from Ohio and Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Bowser; son, Douglas Bowser; brother and sister in-law, Edward Lee and Dorothy Craig; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph E. and Rebecca Craig; and brother, David Craig.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington with the Rev. Mike Bobbitt, pastor of Cornerstone Assembly of God, officiating. Interment will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jean’s memory to the Laube Cancer Center, 1 Nolte Drive, Kittanning, Pa. 16201
