Lindsey Ronald Clever

March 3, 1957 ~ November 3, 2017 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Lindsey Ronald Clever, 60, of Kittanning, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017. Lindsey was born on March 3, 1957, in Kittanning, and lived his entire life in Armstrong County.  Lindsey was an active baseball and football player for Kittanning until he graduated in 1976, earning the MVP of section 9 for baseball in 1975. He continued his love of competition and the game through participating in Tri-County baseball and various softball leagues. He spent 25 years underground working as a coal miner for R&P, now Consol Coal Company, and was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America. Upon retiring from the mines, he spent another 14 years as a school bus driver and mechanic for Valley Lines. He was fond of hunting, fishing, backyard sports, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Well known for his joking and storytelling, he liked sharing his contagious love of laughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy (Adams) Clever; and a sister, Joan Wolfe. He is survived by siblings, Benjamin (Beverly) Clever, Carolyn (James) Wadding, Isabele (John) Stile, and Rhoda Mikita. Left to cherish the fond memories of his good hearted nature are his wife of 39 years, Florence (Zydonik) Clever; daughter, Rebecca (Jeremy) Smith; son, Jason (Kathryn) Clever; and daughter, Sharon (Jason) Rullo; and grandchildren, Aidan and Leah Smith, Jaxon and Bronson Clever; and Jason, Jr. and Joshua Rullo.  Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. 2017, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Harvest Community Church, 143 Reed Road, in East Franklin, until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Giddings officiating. A private burial will take place at Concord Presbyterian Cemetery in Dayton. In lieu of flowers, Lindsey requested memorial donations be made to The Salvation Army or the Teen Challenge Ministry in Butler, in hopes that his death will provide one last helping hand to someone who needs it.
