Mary Margaret (Lamison) Farster, 95, of Kittanning, died on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Kittanning.
She was born on Aug. 3, 1923, in Mosgrove, Pa., to the late James Newton and Minnie Grace (Milliron) Lamison.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Union Bible Church and also recently attended First Baptist Church in Distant.
She belonged to the Woodmen of the World, since 1963. Mary also was also a Cub Scouts den mother, member of Willing Workers Mission Circle at Mt. Union Bible Church for more than 60 years, she sang in the church choir, ladies ensemble, and Valaires Southern Gospel Group.
She enjoyed working with her flowers and plants, doing crafts, sewing, cooking, and was generally very artistic. She previously was a Leader Times paper carrier, cafeteria worker at Big River Manufacturing, and did janitorial work at the church.

(George) Piper, of Kittanning; son, Herbert (Jacqueline Rosenberger) Farster, of Kittanning; daughter, Patricia (Terry) Carnes, of Perkasie, Pa.; grandchildren, Brad Farster, Beth (Ben) Clever, Denise (Randy) Quinn, Ryan (Heidi) Farster, Nathan (Ashley) Farster, Kristin Willman, Nick Farster, David Carnes, Jonathan Carnes; great-grandchildren, Cody Cox, Hannah Quinn, Sara Clever, Kaylyn Farster, Abigail Quinn, Katie Clever, Lucas Farster, Adelaide Farster, and one due in June 2019; step- grandchildren, Samuel (Dawn) Piper, Jake (Kathy) Piper, Jody Piper; step great-grandchildren, Sammy Piper, Joshua Piper, Megan McCullough, Gregory McCullough, Emily Hackett, Brittany Funkhouser, Dylan Funkhouser; three step greatgreat grandchildren; brother, Dennis Allen (Linda) Lamison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Melvin Dwight Farster, whom she married on April 23, 1941, and who died on Nov. 22, 2017; son, Timothy Ross; brothers, James Newton, Jr., and Donald Harold; sisters, Rita Grace Lamison, Betty Alice Smith, Glenda June Schiano, Emma Mae Irwin, and Carolyn Frances Stephens.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Additional viewing will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, in the Mt. Union Bible Church from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lyle Westover officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Reformed Cemetery.
