Olive Jane Flick, 96, of Applewold, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at VNA Hospice in Butler. Jane was born April 1, 1922 in Karns City, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Harry Blaine and Bertha Idella (McElravy) Wagner. She was married to Leroy C. Flick, who passed in 1986. She ran the family grocery store in South McGrann for many years. After closing the store, she did day work and child care for Kohl, Karp, and Butler families in Kittanning. She took care of the babies in the nursery at Kittanning First United Methodist Church for 45 years. She retired from the Housekeeping Department at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital at 67.
Jane had an infectious smile with beautiful blue eyes that sparkled when she smiled. She was a strong and determined woman who loved beyond all faults and was loved by all who knew her. She learned to drive a car at age 49 and loved her first car, a blue VW Bug. After retirement, she enjoyed taking her sisters and sisters-in-laws out for lunch and shopping. Jane’s most cherished time was spent with her family. She loved holidays and family dinners and picnics with her family.
She leaves behind her daughters, Vickie (Robert) White of Butler, PA and Beverly Ferraro of Bridgeville, PA who love her with all their hearts. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Robert (Kristen) White of Butler, PA, Lee Ann (Damon) Formaini of Kittanning, PA, Gina (John) Lienert of Coraopolis, PA, and Anthony (Monica) Ferraro of Sarver, PA; and great grandchildren Ava, Alec and Max Formaini; Gianna, Lydia, and Mikayla Ferraro; and Adalyn and Livia Lienert, and step-grandson, Matthew Salina. Also her baby brother, James Earnest Sage (Joan) Wagner of Carlisle, PA and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Velma Wagner, Margaret Gibson, Georgia Gibson, Catherine Blystone, and LaVonna (Bonnie) Aites; and two brothers, John (Jackie) Wagner and Richard Wagner.
Friends and family of Olive “Jane” Flick will be received from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, October 8, 2018 and from 9:30-10:30 AM on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at Kittanning First United Methodist, 301 Jefferson St., Kittaning on Tuesday Oct. 9, 2018 with Pastor Deborah Kociban and Pastor Barbara Stoehr and Pastor Hannah Loughman from Butler First United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Sugarcreek Township.
