Raymond E. Lasher, 81, of Templeton, passed away at home on March 4, 2018. He was born on Dec. 17, 1936, in Adrian, to the late Delbert and Velma (Stover) Lasher. After serving in the Army in Korea from 1953 to 1956, he met and married Fay Bowser on Feb. 2, 1958. Together they had three sons, Raymond, Roger, and John. Raymond worked as a foreman on the railroad, kiln fireman for Harbinson Walker Refectories, and along with his wife Fay, owned and operated Lasher’s Exotic Pets and Lasher’s Mercantile. He loved hunting for arrowheads, metal detecting, and hunting for old bottles. He also was a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Fay, of 60 years, and sons, Raymond (Marge) Lasher and John (Lenae) Lasher. He also leaves behind his grandsons, Jason (Becky) Lasher, John (Laura) Lasher Jr., Adam (Ashley) Lasher; granddaughters, Amanda (Chad) Wells, Lori (Ryan) Lasher, Carly (Chris) Lasher, Cristy (Chris) Lasher; 11 great grandchildren, with one on the way; brothers, Carl Lasher, Walter “Butch” Lasher, Jim (Nancy) Nelson, Bob (Ellen) Nelson; sisters, Shirley (John) Wolf and Marie (Junior) Barnes and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Roger, two brothers, Nelson Leroy and John Wayne Lasher, and parents in-law, Paddy and Dot Bowser. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday March 6, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday March 7, at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home at 253 N. Grant Ave. in Kittanning Borough. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Thursday March 8, in the funeral home, with Pastor Deb Kociban officiating. Interment will be in the Cochran Cemetery in Templeton.
