Robert L. Cox, 83, of Kittanning passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Sugar Creek Rest. He was born Oct. 11, 1933, to Jonathan and Wilda (Holwell) Cox. Bob was a carpenter all of his life and previously worked for Henry Shaffer Lumber Co. in Kittanning, before forming his own construction company for many years. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War. He loved his children, grandchildren, and his dogs. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Deanna Cox; two sons, Robert M. (Lisa) Cox and Jon A. (Tricia) Cox; four grandchildren, Michael J. (Samantha) Cox, Jessica R. (Brian) Byers, Missy A. (Ian) Lavanish, and Matthew L. (Yanelvis) Cox; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Byers, Willow Cox, and Logan Byers; and one great-grandchild on the way, Uriah Cox; one sister, Janet (Delson) Johns; four brothers, Jack Cox, Tom (Sandy) Cox, Don (Kathy) Cox, and Michael (Linda) Cox; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Effie Arbuckle and Nan Clark; and four brothers, David Cox, Dan Cox, Wilbert Cox and William Cox. Due to Bob’s wishes, there will be no viewing or service. Arrangements entrusted to Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning.
