Robert J. Houser, 90, of Templeton died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in ACMH Hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1926, in Boggs Township to Robert and Gladys (Kuhns) Houser. Robert was an inspector with Eljer Plumbing and a dairy farmer. He served in the U.S. Army. A member of the Goheenville Presbyterian Church, he served as an elder and clerk of session. His other memberships were the Brown Swiss Association, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, and American Legion. He spent his life on the family farm. Survivors include his wife, Lois (Schaeffer) Houser, whom he married on May 12, 1960; son, Donald and wife, Melinda, of Templeton; daughter, Susan and husband, Mike Engle, of Duncansville; grandson, Jacob Houser and wife, Melissa, of North Canton, Ohio; granddaughters, Anna and Rachel Engle of Duncansville; grandson, Caleb Engle of Duncansville; and one great-granddaughter due this fall. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Betty Snyder and Frances Snyder. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, in the funeral home until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 with Rex Munsee officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Goheenville Presbyterian Church.
