Ronald George “Butch” Brumbaugh, 76, of Kittanning, completed his earthly journey on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. He was an extremely supportive and loving husband, father, and grandfather to his beloved wife, Sandy (Walter) Brumbaugh; daughter, Mindy (Brumbaugh) and husband Bill Schreckengost; daughter, Shelley (Brumbaugh) and husband Keith Serene; grandsons, Cody Schreckengost, Josh Serene, Toby Schreckengost, Kain Acierno; and granddaughters, Kiley Schreckengost and Angelena Acierno. He is also survived by his sisters, Flo (Bob) Bowser, Ginger (Corbin) Bowser, Helen Cravenor, and Kathy (Glenn) Hamrick; mother-in-law Madge Walter; sisters-in-law, Nel Walter and Linda (Blair) Hooks; and many loving nieces and nephews. His family will deeply miss him but rejoices in his union with his Lord and Savior and the reunion with his treasured grandchildren Cody and Kiley Schreckengost and daughter Beth Diane Brumbaugh and other family members that preceded him; parents, Frank and Frances Brumbaugh; brothers, Bud and Mike Brumbaugh; sisters, Buelah “Boots” (Brumbaugh) Bleggi and Louise (Brumbaugh) Schreckengost; and father-in-law, William H. Walter. Butch was a faithful and compassionate man who enjoyed helping others through his humor, good nature and giving spirit. He was an active and cherished member of the Walkchalk Salem Baptist Church family. Those in the community benefited from his generosity whether it was a shared bag of his well-known home grown potatoes, a delivered load of his prized firewood, assistance with a household project, or simply a friend when one was needed. He was an U.S. Navy veteran. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon on Thursday at Walkchalk Salem Baptist Church with Butch’s nephew, Mike Bowser, and Pastor Charles Layne officiating. The family sends a special thank you to Mike Bowser for his presence and spiritual leadership during this difficult time. The family would also like to thank Pastor Chuck for his support and Butch’s niece, Emily Gardner, for providing the music. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Butch’s memory to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation for Supportive Care Department, 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15224
