Ruth A. Foster, beloved mother and grandmother, 73, of Kittanning, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was born March 5, 1945, in Sherrett, to the late Kenneth and Mildred (Brink) Foster. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning, where she also belonged to the CD of A, Young at Heart Club, and she also helped clean the church. Ruth volunteered at the cancer center and also was a member of the Relay For Life team Barracudas. She enjoyed girl’s night every month with her classmates. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include son, Michael (Shirley) Guthrie of Cowansville; daughter, Tina Shakley of Maine; daughter, Stacey Guthrie of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, James Michael, Joshua, Kenneth Allen, Jared, and Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Kristen Shakley and Eban Shakley; brother, James C. (Linda “Sue”) Foster of Cowansville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning, with the Rev. Alan Grote officiating. Interment will be in the Sherrett Cemetery.
