Shirley Jean (Bowser) Bowser, 80, of Worthington, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at VNA Hospice in Butler. She was born March 10, 1938, in Kittanning, to the late Clarence and Mabel (Long) Bowser. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a homemaker. Shirley attended the Craigsville Methodist Church. She like going out to eat, and spending time with friends. She also liked gardening, word searches, and crafts.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly J. (Mark) Hika of Worthington; grandsons Cory A. Hika and Colby J. Hika of Worthington; granddaughter LoRea’ L. Hika of Worthington, sister Donna (Ray) Fahlor of Cowansville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James R. Bowser, who passed away in 1997; son Lonnie Bowser; daughter Amy Bowser; grandson Dahne Hika; and brother and sister-in-law Bob and Pearl Bowser.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 14, at the funeral home, with additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, with the Rev. Michael B. Coats officiating. Interment will be in the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.
