Thomas John Tatsak, 87, of Kittanning, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at the Kittanning Care Center.
He was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Bridgeburg, Pa., to the late Peter and Anna (Kuchara) Tatsak.
Thomas was a member of the Operators Union No. 66 for 70 years, and worked for Davidson Sand and Gravel Dredge all of his life. He was the hardest working man God had given us.
He loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking crafts. Always Mr. Fix it!
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kittanning.
He will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Scardina, and Donna (D. Ernest) Fisher; grandchildren, Kimberly Fisher, Kenneth Fisher and companion Melanie, Michael (Melody) Scardina, and Angela Scardina and companion Aldo; great-grandchildren, Kristin Fisher and fiancé Keifer, Kara Fisher, Anthony Scardina, Henry Scardina, Lydia Scardina, Violet Scardina, Charlotte Scardina, Penelope Scardina, and John Scardina; great-great-granddaughter, Kylinn Wonderling; sister, Nancy Wyant; and many nieces and nephews scattered through the country. He was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Freda (Farester) Tatsak; two brothers, William and Jack Tatsak; and six sisters, Ann Moore, Helen Lukach, Mary Leitgeb, Margaret Lockhart, Olga Clark, and Irene Bieniek.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, where there will be additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service with the Rev. Carl Johnson, his church pastor officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington.
