Tyrone E. Stephens

Tyrone E. Stephens, 79, of Templeton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Kittanning Care Center.  Ty was born June 28, 1939, in Bakerton, Pa., to Lena (Stephens) Slagle, who married Leroy Slagle. Both preceded him in death in 1996.  Ty was passionate about his family and loved spending time with them. He was an avid storyteller, and loved making people laugh. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch listening to the Pittsburgh Pirates. In his younger days, he hunted every year and enjoyed fishing.  He was employed at Eljer and was a blaster for Wampum Explosives.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, soul mate, and love of his life for 52 years, Barbara (Woods) Stephens. He will be so tremendously missed by his children, Susan Croyle (Don), Jeff ‘Spud’ Stephens (Robin), and Jen Diguilio; his grandchildren, Eric Croyle (April), Stephanie Smith (Cody), Daniel Croyle (Lexi), Joe Stephens, and Kayla ‘Kcole’ Stephens; and his first great-granddaughter that he was anxiously waiting for, Allie Rena Croyle. Our family and friends that are family all had a special place in his heart.  We will be forever grateful for all he has taught us and all the love he showed us. We will never be the same. We love you ‘Ronee’, Dad and PaPa. We will always “watch that road and be careful.” Forever in our hearts.

Friends will be received on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:30 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, with the Rev. Robert Grimm officiating.
