William J. Crissman, 77, of Vandergrift, passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, surrounded by his family at UPMC Montefiore Hospital. He was born May 26, 1941, in Kittanning, to Herbert Earl Crissman and Martha (Croyle) Crissman. He attended Kittanning High School. Bill married Nancy (Guthrie) Crissman on June 3, 1960. He worked at Eljer for 37 years. He was a member of Ford City Baptist Church and the Parks Township Sportsman Association. He enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, hunting, football, and most of all, spending time with family. Bill loved joking around, and he also loved making deer bologna and his famous sauerkraut.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Guthrie) Crissman; children, John (Charlene), Gregg (Becky), and Melissa (David); sister, Nancy McCollim; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ed, Don, and Larry Crissman.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, at the First Baptist Church of Ford City from 10 a.m., until time of funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Tim Kutch officiating. Interment will be in Ford City Cemetery.
