Woody Rollo Murtland, 86, of Kittanning, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Kittanning, to the late Fonda Murtland and Norman Klingensmith. He lived in Kittanning, all of his life. Woody worked for People’s Natural Gas Company for 32 years, until he retired in 1989. He loved hunting and enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly. He was an U.S Army veteran. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mona (Cravener) Murtland; sons, Terry (Ronda) Murtland of Kittanning; and Dan Murtland, also of Kittanning; daughters, Kriss (Eric) Cravener of Garretts Run; and Karen (Kevin) Leard of Kittanning; six grandchildren, Holly (Doug Stubbs) Wright, Ashley (Jon) Cox, Mikey Toy, Logan Leard, Harley and Jesse Cravener; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden Wright, Dani Stubbs, and Peyton Laird. In addition to his mother and stepfather, Woody was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Denise Murtland; a brother, Lloyd; and a sister, Cheerio Cyphers. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. A private service will be held by the family with the Rev. Richard Molgaard officiating. Interment will be in the Center Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
