Agnes Jane Roofner, 94, passed into the arms of her Savior, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Hawthorne Woods in Washington, PA. She was born on December 6, 1927 to the late Burton and Nellie (McGaughey) Schrecongost, and was the loving wife of the late Robert William Roofner for 58 years. Agnes was a member of the Worthington Baptist Church where she faithfully taught Sunday School and attended Faith Baptist Church in Waynesburg later in life. She lived her life for others and led many to the Lord whom she loved.
Surviving are: two sons, Paul (Grace) Roofner of Waynesburg and Gary (Susan) Roofner of Owego, NY; and one daughter, Karen (David) Ervine of Altoona. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ted (Gloria) Roofner, Rachel Dehart, Kevin (Dawn) Roofner, Dawn (Lon) Williams, Jared (Natalie) Ervine, Jana (Jordan) Huff, and Josh (Jamie) Ervine and 25 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Vivian Roofner and a brother-in-law, Richard Keener as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert, a daughter, Bonnie Jean Roofner, a grandson, Ryan Roofner, a great-granddaughter, Catherine Roofner, and three brothers, Laird, Henry, and Walter Schrecongost.
Friends will be received at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear Street, Worthington from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, April 29, 2022. Additional viewing will be from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am, Saturday, April 30 at the Worthington Baptist Church, Ross St. with Rev. Dr. David Ervine officiating.
