Alfred Eugene Goldinger, age 94, passed away at home in North Buffalo Township on December 9, 2024.  He was born on May 31, 1930 in Vandergrift to Clark and Eva Goldinger, growing up in Spring Church.  His lifetime included employment at Yergers (Kistaco) Fruit Farm, graduating from Elders Ridge High School in 1949, attending welding school in Troy, Ohio, and employment at U.S. Steel in Vandergrift.  After serving in the Marine Corps from 1952-1954 he farmed in Elderton and became an artificial inseminator for WPABC/Atlantic Breeder Cooperative for 34 years.  He purchased a farm in North Buffalo Township and developed a mobile home park.  

Alfred is survived by his wife of 73 years, Phyllis (Wilson) Goldinger; seven children: Deborah (Ken) Forringer, Judy (Terry) Trudgen, Mark (Jana) Goldinger, Karen Askins, Cindy (Mike) Mitchell, Kyle (Kelly) Goldinger and Connie (Aaron) Clouse; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, June Reedy; grandson, Justin Goldinger; and son-in-law, Ron Askins.

His joys in life were his family, hard work, their home in Sebring, Florida, golfing and eating. 

Friends will be received from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, Pa.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Terry Trudgen officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service.  Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, spend time with your family and take a loved one out to dinner.
